Summary
Good Afternoon,
I’m writing to let you know about the launch of Know Your Place Trent Valley (KYPTV) a community engagement approach that’s looking to build understanding of local communities across the region. The data collected from these conversations will be published and used to help create local profile reports that will help define local priorities and to inform decisions makers regarding emerging projects such as the Trent Supercluster. To support discussion and engagement, we will be hosting drop-in events around the Trent Valley region throughout summer 2026, including the following events in Bassetlaw:
Date Time Location
Saturday 13 June 11am - 2pm Sturton Hall and Conference Centre
Tuesday 16 June 4pm - 7pm Rampton Village Hall
Wednesday 17 June 10am - 12pm Clarborough Village Hall
Saturday 27 June 10am - 1pm The Beeches Community Centre, Tuxford
Wednesday 1 July 9.30am - 12.30pm Westhill Community Centre, Ordsall
Saturday 4 July 12pm - 5pm Misterton Gala
Wednesday 22 July 4pm - 7pm Gringley on the Hill Community Centre
Wednesday 29 July 4pm - 7pm Clayworth Memorial Hall
Wednesday 12 August 4pm - 7pm The Recreation Room, Beckingham
Saturday 15 August 9am - 12pm Retford Farmers' Market
Tuesday 18 August 4pm - 7pm Dunham on Trent and District Village Hall
Wednesday 19 August 4pm - 7pm South Leverton Memorial Institute
Thursday 27 August 4pm - 7pm North and South Wheatley Village Hall
(All residents within the Trent Valley engagement area are welcome to attend any of our events)
We’ll be speaking to residents to understand what they like, and dislike, about their local community as it is now. We are also keen to understand the potential challenges and opportunities that your area could face in 2040 in light of the expected developments in the Trent Valley.
If residents can’t make the in-person event in their area they are welcome to attend our other events across the region - we’re hosting at least two a week across the summer - or they can submit our digital response form online (it only takes a couple of minutes). The more residents that take part, the more successful the engagement campaign will be - meaning more data on your area to help define your priorities and better inform decision makers.
We will be sharing and promoting the event on our social media channels, but if you could also share the details of the event on social media, via local Facebook groups, on notice boards, or by letting residents know directly then we would really appreciate it. There is also an additional option for you to deliver leaflets to promote your event - paid for by Bassetlaw - if you have willing volunteers (please let me know if you’re interested). I’ve attached a general flyer/poster for Know Your Place Trent Valley and I’ll be in touch again to share event specific poster/graphics with you as soon as they’re ready.
Finally, if there’s any community events over the summer that you think are worth us attending or if your parish would like to host their own event then please let me know and I’m happy to try work it into our schedule.
I look forward to working with you to promote the events and the wider campaign to ensure as many residents engage with it as possible. If you would like to arrange a chat to discuss the engagement campaign or events in more detail then please just drop me a message and I’ll arrange a meeting.
Best wishes,
Ryan
